Catering and Beverages

  • The catering kitchen has a sink, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker and prep table.
  • All public events must be catered by state-licensed, approved caterers. The caterer is responsible for all setup, food serving and cleanup in the catering kitchen and all food service areas.
  • To cater at the Brelsford WSU Visitor Center, a caterer must have a Catering/Mobile Permit from the Whitman County Department of Public Health. The current list of approved caterers in Whitman County is available online.
  • By law, a Washington State Banquet Permit is required for the service and consumption of liquor at private, invitation-only banquets or gatherings held in a public place or business. Examples include weddings, company banquets, retirement parties, and club, organization or church events. All State of Washington drinking-age laws must be strictly followed and enforced.
  • Some events may require a special occasion license. A special occasion license allows a bona fide nonprofit organization to sell liquor at a specific time, date and place. Examples of events include fundraising dinners, gala events, auctions, and wine tastings.
