Pullman Dining & Activities

A big part of getting the full vibe of WSU Pullman is rooted in exploring the community, and Pullman has so much to offer!

It’s a true college town with a wide array of amenities and attractions within walking distance of campus or a short jaunt by bike, scooter or bus, and there’s ample parking for those looking to drive themselves. We suggest having an idea of what you would like to see and do before arriving so you can easily plot out your adventure once you’re here! 

Dining

To truly experience a community is to dine in one, and Pullman has a variety of local restaurants and coffee shops that make it possible! From burgers and fries, lattes and scones to woodfire pizza, barbecue and fine dining complete with top tier steaks, pork chops and carbonara, Pullman has something that will satisfy your taste buds. Shopping

Specialty shops, clothing boutiques, consignment stores and more! There are so many fun, unique places to shop in Pullman that it’s easy to make an afternoon of it. The shopping scene offers a great variety of essentials and the “just because” purchases, like clothing, pottery, bikes and biking accessories, wine, cheese, chocolates and plants — to name just a few!

Outdoor Recreation

Biking, walking, hiking and picture taking opportunities abound in Pullman! There are multiple accessible trails and pathways that connect through town and are great for leisurely biking and walking. The city has several public parks offering ample green space, picnic and seating areas, walking paths and playground equipment along with courts and fields for playing a pickup game of just about any sport such as pickleball or tennis, basketball, baseball, soccer — one is even complete with a disc golf course! Additionally, there are a range of hikes within a short drive that have some of these best views of the Palouse, and if driving is more your style, then cruising down the Palouse Scenic Byway is a must.

Arts and Culture

Live music, theater, museums and festivals — whatever strikes your fancy can be found in Pullman! There are several historical exhibits and art museums open to the public in addition to summer concerts and movie series, plus a local theater where you can take in a play. Not to mention the annual and famous National Lentil Festival that occurs every August to begin the fall semester!
